DANDIYA

News of DANDIYA performance at campus added one more reason to remember this short but dark stay of Delhi.

I was very happy on the day when I received confirmation of internship from AMSS. It was but obvious reaction. However, the moment Shipra asked me to work with taxation team, happiness turned into sadness. I was feeling like that cycle mechanic who was asked to repair an aircraft. Taxation is not my bowl of rice.Anyhow, I managed at work place. But, all management fundas proved to be a failure at a place where I was staying. Sleeping on floor, continuous struggle with ants and following the time schedule of water are some of the few reasons of this failure. Nevertheless, beautiful northeastern co-tenants, proximity from the work place and commitment given to NASA ji were some of the reasons, which compelled me to stay there.

And now this DANDIYA….
DANDIYA is one form of Raas. Raas is a folk art and it changes with the times.
I am still wondering how an art of war, DANDIYA traces its origin from fight between Goddess Durga and Mahisasura, converted itself into a form of love.
History may suggest art of war but we HNLUite practices modernity in its all form.
If I am not wrong our law school has first time organized DANDIYA. Even though I could not participate but managed all the gossips of the event.

I really missed this event but returning with the hope, that life@HNLU will be more colourfull.

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention…….
One of my friend texted that it was his first memorable DANDIYA night.
